Es handelt sich bei einem Hautabszess um eine lokal begrenzte Eiteransammlung. Abhängig von ihrer Lokalisation nennt man sie auch Furunkel, Karbunkel, Schweissdrüsenabszess, Glutealabszess oder periproktitischer Abszess.
